The way my brain works.
The things my heart makes.

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

Albert Einstein

How I like to spend a day.

How I like to spend a day.

The nostalgic state, in which my mind constantly lives as an individual, inspires who I am as an artist. As I question my past, I seek answers and truth in the future. This friction plays out in a visual unfolding of emotions through each piece of art I create. While marrying my own story with well worn materials and the imagined tale of their former life, it is my hope that the viewer’s curiosity and emotional response will complete the narrative in a way that is personal to them.

I work privately and selfishly, without thought to any audience beyond my four walls. When a viewer shares a connection to art I have created, or an appreciation for the process and aesthetic that is personal to me, my work becomes that much more significant.

Today has been all about detoxing. Mentally, emotionally, physically. It’s working. I feel better today than I did yesterday. My floors are clean, kitchen cleaned and fresh air is filling the house. My dogs are lazy and cuter than anyone else’s.

I am finding inspiration and beauty in corners, cubbys and crannies. I am finding peace in people who love me as I am, and enjoy sharing their space and time with me.

Thankful.
